The holiday of lovers of classic cars will take place on September 6. and 7. The fifteenth year of the South Bohemia Classic will once again rank among the largest domestic veteran events. The packed starting field promises a great spectacle. Spectators can look forward to legendary and lesser-known brands. For example, Jaguar, Lagonda, Bentley, MG, Triumph, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, Austin Healey, Chevrolet, Maserati, Skoda, DeLorean, Ferrari, Daimler or Alfa Romeo.

XV South Bohemia Classic 2024, the largest domestic centenary rally, will start on Friday, September 6 at 4:30 p.m. at Přemysl Otakar II Square in České Budějovice. and the route leads through Lišov, Lomnica nad Lužnicí, Hluboka nad Vltavou, Holašovice, Křemži and Chvalšiny to the center of Český Krumlov. From there, the crews will visit the main venue of the competition, Hotel Resort Relax in Dolní Vltavica. During the Saturday stage, the veterans will drive through the most beautiful places in Šumava.

The oldest vehicle on the starting field

Klenot, who raced in the 1930s on the 24 Hours of Le Mans track, will be brought to South Bohemia for the third time by the American Curtis Liposcak. Built in 1931, the MG C-Type is the oldest car that fans can see at XV. South Bohemia Classic. The engine of this unique machine has a displacement of 746 cm³ and a power of around 50 horsepower.

What is a hundredth rally?

The centenary rally is a specific type of competition where the winner is not determined by the fastest time on the track of the measured section. The goal of the crews is to pass accuracy tests, so-called ertets, to the hundredth of a second. Any deviation from the reference time set by the organizers is penalized with penalty points. Whoever collects the fewest in total wins.

Twelve diverse accuracy tests, including a secret graded section, are part of a 468-kilometer-long route, which the crews complete in normal road traffic at a predetermined average speed according to a detailed arrow itinerary.

Among other things, the participants' ability to perfectly control a classic vehicle will be checked by a test in the area of the Hotel Resort Relax in Dolní Vltavica, which is driven downhill without an engine, then the driver must start the unit of his machine and reverse to the target photo cell. The long test leading from Zadov to Churáňov and back will also be unique.
